To add the feel of a holiday at home, we are taking breakfast outdoor during the good weather this summer.
And the hot drink of the summer is:
The Very Green Tea, or "Matcha", known as the tea of the tea ceremony.
Today we can find "green tea" everywhere even in a super market, but this "very green" one is not as popular, otherwise in the organic/health shop.
It's a powdered green tea.
Hot water (once boiled and cooled slightly to about 90℃) is added to one and half spoonful of the tea...
...and whisked like a ... cappucino!
Best is to use the whisk in bamboo, specially made for the purpose, for the thin creamy bubbles. I have not tried with one of those small metal ones, but it could work too.
The point 1 is to pour the water thinly, the point 2 is to start whisking in touching well the bottom of the inside of the bowl, so that the powder is well dissolved. The point 3 is to whisk the surface only at the end.
Here we are!
If I prepare one bowl for him, he prepares one bowl for me, using the same bowl.
Of course you can use two bowls, but the tradition is, to wait until the other finishes to prepare and you take saying thank you, and you prepare in return while the other wait and will say thank you in taking it.
I know it is more sophisticated in the real way therefore more complicated than this.
But the wellness of the very green tea can be enjoyed in the simplest way if we just keep the point clear:
